Canadians are fighting for Fair Treatment.
How Canada’s patchwork of catastrophic drug coverage plans is dangerous to us all.
Have your say in next week’s federal election leaders’ debates
Hi Everyone,
A quick mid-week touch-point on a time sensitive opportunity to ensure that Fair Treatment is a key issue over the coming weeks. Our friends at the Canadian Cancer Society are also looking to make national catastrophic drug coverage an issue in the upcoming federal leader’s debates on April 12th and April 14th. Please consider taking a few minutes to help them out. See below for details.
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be providing online coverage and analysis of the federal election – focusing on each of the major party’s stances on an issue of great importance: a National Catastrophic Drug Coverage plan.
How YOU Can Help
Before midnight tonight (Thursday, April 7th) email the following question to the broadcast consortium organizing the federal leaders’ debates at: question@electiondebate2011.ca
The Question
Prescription drugs are an important part of treating life-threatening diseases such as cancer. The cost of these drugs is rising and it is very important that all Canadian families have the same access to the drugs they need without financial hardship. It’s shameful that Canadian families are facing financial ruin from prescription drug costs and this situation will only get worse if the federal government continues to do nothing.
How will your party achieve the establishment of national catastrophic drug coverage and work with Provincial and Territorial governments to implement it as soon as possible?
And Finally – Spread the Word!
Please take a minute to submit this question and share this message by email, on Facebook and through twitter to encourage friends, family and colleagues to do the same.
In the spirit of peace, order and good government,
Mike
